How Are All-on-4® Implants Placed?
The implant procedure begins with an initial consultation with our Prosthodontist Dr. Darian Kaar at his dental clinic - the All on 4 Dental Implant Center. During the meeting, you are encouraged to seek information and clarify doubts about how All-on-4® implants can resolve your dental issues.
However, in the first step, we conduct tests to see if we need to remove any teeth before placing the dental implants. And if you are a suitable candidate for the treatment, Dr. Kaar will explain how the teeth replacement procedure works and schedule an appointment to begin the process of fitting the implants.
A vital aspect of fitting a patient with All-on-4® implants is the placement of the implants at specific angles. The two back implants are positioned at a 45-degree angle, and the dental implants at the front are positioned at a 90-degree angle. The correct placement of the dental implants ensures improved anchorage, support, and also facilitates the healing process.
After the placement of the implants, little devices called abutments are attached. They connect the new restorations to the implants. Once the abutments are secure, the restorations are attached, and the dentist examines the fit of the angle and the appearance of your new smile.
With the fitting complete, you are requested to attend regular dental appointments so that Dr. Kaar and his dental staff can evaluate the progress of the treatment. It takes about 6 months for the implants to heal and integrate into the bone completely – after which your permanent restorations are fitted.
